EXPERIENCES IN THE EUGANEAN HILLS
The Euganean Hills are now recognised as a MAB UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, a recognition that highlights how environmental conservation and human activity can coexist in harmony.
This area, with its volcanic landform and gentle hills, is a microcosm of biodiversity: here Mediterranean and mountain species, botanical rarities, agricultural and woodland landscapes coexist.

AbanoRitz enjoys an ideal position from which to accompany visitors on a journey of discovery through these wonders: from nature excursions to scenic bike rides, from historic villages to hermitages and monasteries, and on to wineries and golf courses.

TRAILS AND EXCURSIONS
The Euganean Hills Regional Park offers dozens of nature trails, suitable for all levels: from gentle walks to more challenging itineraries.
Recommended routes
- Mount Venda, the highest peak of the Euganean Hills, with panoramic views over the surrounding plain.
- The Alta Via dei Colli Euganei: a circular itinerary (about 41 km in total), passing through woods, vineyards and villages, offering scenic views.
- Local trails – mapped – to admire hidden corners, caves, panoramas, springs and chestnut woods – perfect for those who love walking calmly and breathing in nature.

CYCLE PATH AND CYCLE TOURISM
One of the most accessible ways to explore the area independently is the Euganean Hills Ring (E2) cycle path, which runs around the perimeter of the Park for approximately 64 km.
- The route is largely flat and the surface is mostly paved.
- The itinerary crosses agricultural landscapes, embankments, canals, small villages, historic villas and refreshment points along the way.
- Several variants and shorter loops allow you to adjust the route according to the time available and to your level of technical and physical ability.
For those who love cycle tourism with a food-and-wine touch, you can combine your route with stops at wineries along the Euganean Hills Wine Route.

OUTDOOR SPORTS
If you love the green, the Euganean Hills are the perfect destination: here you will find three outstanding golf courses, set in nature and ideal both for beginners and for those wishing to perfect their swing.
But if you fancy being a little more adventurous, the area also surprises bolder spirits: thanks to the presence of Rocca Pendice, which offers natural rock faces and routes of varying difficulty, perfect for sport climbing.

THE VILLAGES, CULTURE, VILLAS AND CASTLES
The Euganean Hills area is dotted with authentic villages, ancient villas, castles and places rich in history. These stops are the true cultural “soul” of the experience, allowing visitors to alternate nature and the discovery of heritage.
Not to be missed:
- Arquà Petrarca: one of the most evocative villages, linked to the poet Francesco Petrarca, with his house-museum and its medieval lanes.
- Monselice: a fortified town with its Castle, sanctuary and the Seven Churches walk.
- Este: with its medieval centre and the Carrarese Castle.
- Castello del Catajo (Battaglia Terme): a Renaissance jewel with gardens, courtyards and frescoes to explore.
- Historic villas and gardens: the monumental garden of Villa Barbarigo is unmissable; another fascinating destination is Villa Vescovi, a FAI heritage property.
- Montagnana: a small medieval jewel in the heart of the Veneto, famous for its perfectly preserved walls and home to the renowned Prosciutto Veneto Berico Euganeo PDO.

WINE, OIL AND THE FLAVOURS OF THE LAND
The Euganean Hills area is also famous for its wine production: prized wines and native varieties.
- The Euganean Hills Wine Route brings together wineries and producers offering experiences linked to wine, oil and local hospitality.
- In addition to wine, you can taste oil, cheeses, cured meats, honey, chestnuts and jujubes… as well as other quality agricultural products.
